Shoot, I think I just posted my review under Boden UK instead of USA. Here is my review, reposted:I love Boden. Some of their prints and colors might be a bit too exuberant for me, but the design and quality of their clothing is really top notch, especially relative to a lot of other similarly-tiered brands (J. Crew, Ann Taylor, etc.) whose quality has dropped precipitously in recent years. Even though Boden is primarily an online shopping experience for me because of where I live, and it doesn't have the benefit of creating the type of concrete tactile/visual experience that a brick and mortar store automatically can, it still somehow manages to craft a really enjoyable shopping experience through sort of quirky, joyful, spirited emails, beautifully/carefully-packaged shipments, seemingly lovingly placed details in clothing (trims, linings, cuts, overall designs), a thoughtful website, and truly positive customer service phone interactions. One gets the sense that one is shopping in a very personal, almost intimate environment. Boden has really done a brilliant job creating a quality brand. Going back to customer service - I specifically sought out a site to post business reviews because I just had yet another really wonderful phone interaction with them. I have only called them ~3 times in the ~8 years I have been shopping with them - Once to iron out a mistake on their part (most recent call), once to iron out a mistake on my part, and maybe once just to ask questions). Every one of those times has been a delightful experience. Yes, delightful. Not just good or generically positive, but actually a delight. Customer service representatives are not merely polite or pleasantly neutral, but they actually convey kindness. Most recently, they shipped me the wrong colored item. When I called, the representative owned up to Boden's mistake, apologized, and immediately placed a shipment for the correct color BEFORE I had even repackaged the incorrectly colored item let alone shipped it back. I truly appreciated this because the color I wanted had initially sold out shortly after I ordered it, but had recently reappeared online in low-stock, and I was worried I would miss out on the item completely. The icing on the cake was that the item was shipped with premium shipping. My experience with other similarly-tiered brands is that they will do the minimum to address a mistake on their part. They might merely replace your item ONCE you have returned it, IF it is still in stock. Or, if an item has run out, they may merely apologize with empty, rote words. Because of Boden's track record with me over the years, I truly trust and enjoy the company. I do not have the money to buy a lot from them - just a few pieces on sale each year, but it is worth the investment for me - investment in quality clothes, as well as investment in supporting a good, decent company.
