Virgin Atlantic Event Code April 2024

I flew to a Latin American country on a flight operated by another airline but run by VA. IN other words, it's like an alliance type deal where the airline responsible for ticketing is Virgin but their carrier (at a fee I imagine ) will be someone else.Due to an accident I had to completely dismantle my schedule and even go into changes my ticket did not allow. I had to present a lot of evidence, which i was more than ready to do.Whilst the agency I had purchased the ticket from (World Air Fares) were totally unable /unwilling to assist with the non-planned change of return dates, and had me waiting for weeks , and were ready to charge me a hefty extra amount (£500 - more than what I had paid for the ticket), my eventual direct contact with Virgin Atlantic was the effort which really yielded a result. The staff on the phone were so helpful and I remain moved by their kindness and flexibility. I will never forget the assistance they gave to me at such critical time, which the agency failed to offer to me. Initially amazed by WAF's service I ended up feeling totally let down by them and won over by Virgin.

Good service, decent food, amenable staff, comfortable seating. What more could you ask for on a long-haul flight.

Online booking messed up names for the booking. Cannot change it online as it won't allow full name. Luckily had copies of the booking pages to show we had entered values correctly. Trying to call them but just end up waiting for hours. Raised a complaint, and 2 weeks on and I am still waiting for someone to call back. To top it all off, they have now decided to change both times, 3 weeks after original booking...... Finally had an update from Virgin and managed to sort out issues for now.....

I booked flights (for a family of 4) in April 2021 as a one way from Miami to Heathrow. I then had to cancel the first part of my trip so needed to get from Heathrow to Miami. I searched frantically for last minute one way tickets and they were SO expensive. I called Virgin and was told I couldn't change my ticket to a round trip like I had hoped. The lady on the phone was not very friendly. She didn't seem to like her job to be honest. You could hear kids in the background and it sounded like she was preoccupied. So I called back the next day. Low and behold I got a person on the phone with more knowledge and was able to change my flight to a roundtrip. Yes it cost a lot of money but was cheaper than trying to buy a one way with another airline (unless I wanted to fly via a budget Portugese airline and have a 14 hour layover in Lisbon, nope! Not with two kids and in a pandemic). We then needed to change my husbands flight to a travel voucher as we were not sure if he was going to make the trip. No trouble. He was able to join us in Florida 10 days after we left and was able to rebook with 2 days notice (no additional cost). The only downside is the one hour wait to get a person on the phone of course. That needs work. Not everything can be done online or via their What's App chat. I then changed our return date as well! No fees. Brilliant. The flights were both great, decent food, and wonderful cabin crew. They are really the best! A chap named Neo really made our trip back to the UK more comfortable and nothing was too much trouble. Virgin Airlines really came through for us this year... thank you.

So last year Virgin Atlantic pulled out of Gatwick and I checked with the travel agent (STA travel) what my options were. The pandemic was in full swing and USA banned all tourists from entering the country. I was told I could not have a refund and I had to accept Virgin vouchers which were good until Sept 2022. OK, so then STA travel went bust but Virgin assured me I still had the vouchers. I have spent months considering how I am going to use these as the options are limited now since they pulled out of Gatwick and finally I settled on Miami flights that I saw in the sale. Called up to use my vouchers and was told I had to go to the original destination from Heathrow??? and they could not offer me anything else and referred me to ATOL as they might refund me due to STA travel closing down. This does not seem right or fair, does it? Edit, I emailed Virgin Customer service a few more times and eventually got the money back in the form of a refund to my card so I changed my score to a 3/5

I have used virgin a lot and just flown Heathrow to Las Vegas in premium, wow the crew couldn't have been nicer, it was on the dreamliner so felt better than usual when landed, having a comfy seat and plenty to eat & drink (coffee bottomless )Although not in everyone's price bracket it is worth the upgrade, excellent, thank you, I can't afford first class but who knows when the lottery numbers come up....

Another great experience with Virgin. Clean planes, attentive staff, fun!

Great holiday! Best airlineWe flew in December to the USA and i am blown away at how good the staff were considering the difficult time. Felt safe and got a great deal on our holiday! Thanks Virgin!

Recently travelled by VA return LHR/DEL. Check-in at LHR/T3 (VS 300 5th April 19:30 Hrs) was very smooth and well organized. VA staff were very keen to help.On the other hand check-in DEL/T3 (VS 3034 MAY 22 02:30 Hrs) was totally in chaos. There was no staff to help. Stood in the bag drop kew for about 70 mins as there were about 6 passengers in front of us. VA check-in took about 40 mins to check-in one family. The rest 6 passengers took about 30 mins to checkin. There was no proper filtering process for passengers. Staff just turned their back when approached. Being a flying club member, would seriously consider whether to fly with VA in future. Please train your DEL staff properly.

Staff were professional and courteous. I travelled in the morning for an approximately 9 hours flight. Edible lunch and tea meals were provided according to you food preferences, as well as a variety of drinks in abundance. So, there was no chance of going hungry. The same on my return journey where there was dinner and breakfast as my journey started in the evening carrying on till morning.I made use of the toilet more than once on my return journey, and it was clean and smelled fresh every time, and contained adequate toiletry products.There was easy access and availability to entertainment (touch screen), USB plug charger, blanket to cover yourself in case you get cold.A negative: I don't have long legs so some kind of foot rest would have been welcomed. Also, couldn't get internet/wireless access. I did find the seat reclining of the passenger in front of me an impediment, but thankfully there were spare seats in other parts of the plane just as comfortable, so I moved seats, and continued to enjoy my journey. And, on my return journey, I moved seats again due to flatulence expulsion from the passenger in front of me. Again, I enjoyed the rest of my journey as before.Overall, a great travel experience. I am glad I travelled with Virgin Atlantic, I would use the same airline again, and have already recommended it.
