Use TurboTax BUT be Careful

Used TurboTax for years. Yes, they want to upgrade you into a paid version but they were always upfront about it. This year when I finished my return, there was a "continue" link on the bottom. Yikes! This was to an enrollment window for Credit Karma. When I read the fine print, I learn I will be releasing all my financial and personal identity information to Credit Karma to do whatever they want with it. TurboTax did not have any statement it wasn't a requirement to get my return filed. Very sneaky and manipulative.

I have used TurboTax for a few years…

I have used TurboTax for a few years now. I am especially pleased Mr. O? for taking his time and assisting me in completing my 2021 return this morning. He was the only person out of the 3 chat attempts who actually knew what was wrong and how to correct the small error. Thank you again Mr. for your knowledge & patients and of course TurboTax!

I have used Turbo Tax for years

I have used Turbo Tax for years. Have always been satisfied. This year however, I am disappointed. I have very simple taxes and always choose the basic package. I noticed this year more than ever, Turbo Tax kept trying to up-sell to a more expensive package while I was imputing data. At one point I was asked if I would like live advise. I thought sure, why not. At no point was I prompted this would increase the price of my package. So as it turned out, instead of paying $60 to do my federal taxes, I paid $120. I am not happy about this and there appears to be no one or place to go within Turbo Tax to express my frustrations. So I do like the ease of the program but I feel Turbo Tax needs to be more upfront about their charges.

Turbotax is by far the best customer…

Turbotax is by far the best customer service I've ever found. the software is very simple and teaches you many things about taxes . and when i filed wrong and call support they were simply able to see everything in my computer and show me with a red mark how to do each step, However, Pruse 'from support, was so much helpful and informed with everything.Turbotax is just amazing.

Turbotax is actually very easy to use. I used to wonder if it missed anything every year, but I compared it to what an accountant did with deductions and it was on target.

This is an expensive software without…

This is an expensive software without help, it should cost much less. I had a problem last year with this software company which I ended up paying twice for taxes and penalties for their mishaps. They say they are reliable, and they better be. The software changes regularly and there is sometimes mishaps. I only hope for the best after filing my taxes. I don't think these tax prep companies should be charging excessive fees especially when we have to constantly pay taxes. Work for free America is where we are heading!
