Good: I've found the call centre support helpful. They use discretion if you have an issue. Neutral: pricing, when I first used them years ago they seemed to be cheaper than other sites. Not so much these days. They do have a price match which I've used but you end up with a voucher code rather than refunded cash. Bad: they dont pay VAT on the rooms. It's all offshore stuff. So no corporation tax either. Better to buy a room direct with the hotel so UK tax is paid. Same issue that affects a lot of US multinationals these days.

I had a reservation at a Loews that was pre-paid and non-refundable for 3/21-3/27, had to cancel due to COVID-19. Loews updated its policy to give full refund on reservations through 4/30, but stated that third party bookings needed to be contacted directly. Called Hotels.com a few times over the past several days and got the "technical difficulties" message, but finally got through and into the queue this morning. Waited 28 minutes, was connected, reservation cancelled, and given a full refund after agent contacted Loews to verify. Expecting "normal" response time during these extraordinary times when the world is turned upside down and inside out is unreasonable. Be patient folks! I will continue using Hotels.com without reservation (pun intended).

This company has always done right by me, and considering the nature of the industry it is dealing with and how many things could go wrong I think it does a great job.

SHOUT OUT TO JANE!! Although I had to call 10 different numbers, I was able to get thru to an agent after holding for only 40 mins (ONLY HAHA) and was able to get a full refund for our Hawaii trip in April. We actually booked a non-refundable rate, but due to the pandemic Hyatt was lenient on their policy and approved for Hotels.com to issue us a full refund. Please keep in mind that the agents are working hard to get thru the calls and it does not help if you are panicking. They understand and will do their best to help you.

Have used hotels.com several times with satisfactory results.However, do not really expect that the 'price guarantee' is something you will be able to take advantage of. They make it almost impossible to capitalize on and it is not worth the effort. I've called twice to try to get the lower price on the same property on Hotels.com (not even another website) and the first time I was advised to cancel my reservation and rebook (although their own website advises to just call them). The price on their website also stated I would get free breakfast as a Silver Exclusive reward however when I went to rebook, it said breakfast would be an additional $86/day. Given that the website says there is only 1 room available I didn't want to take that chance. The second time, I was advised with new taxes and fees the saving I calculated to be $25 was only $9 by 'their' calculations. It was not worth the 30 minutes I spent with them on the phone.Additionally, if you are on a road trip and need to book a hotel/inn, I would suggest you go in to the property itself and ask their rate first, then go out to the car and check hotels.com. If it is lower or the same book online with hotels.com to take advantage of the free nights collection (if that hotel is part of the program). Bottom line, do your research and if the hotels.com is lower than the hotel website and is part of the free nights program go ahead and book, however don't think you will be able to actually take advantage of the 'price guarantee'.

I made a mistake in my booking. I called expecting to be completely out the money I paid since the error was my fault. To my delight they were completely helpful and assisting me, no questions asked. I travel a lot and will definitely use hotels.com often based on this experience

True comment here, I have to say it's unusual for happy customers to write a review but I booked +10 hotels with this website, in France, Morocco, Tunisia, for several years, pricing is great, never had any problems ! I guess it's worth when you need after sale service, but for my part it's 100% OK I recommend this website, You can easily pay via Paypal, which is great

I stayed at mirachoro apartments with hotels .com the apartment was lovely and spacious and very secure as a solo traveler,it gave me peace of mind l have use hotels.com on many occasions and have always found them very good ,l just received a free night using there rewards scheme which l will be using on my next break ,also this company price match

I don’t often write reviews but I was pleasantly surprised by the Customer Service. I booked a 5 night stay in Boston through the site. It clearly stated that no changes or cancellations were allowed so when I called customer service and asked them to advise the hotel we only needed 4 nights, I wasn’t expecting any sort of refund. Our agent took it upon himself to negotiate a refund on our behalf! They went above and beyond. I will definitely be using hotels.com again.

It took many tries to get through to them. Chat showed an 300 minute wait after trying to connect 50-60 times. I waited about 45 minutes on the phone for them. I had a non-refundable condo booked. Vista Cay by Orlando Resort Rentals called me and said they were offering free cancellations and full refunds, but I would have to call Hotels.com. Once I connected with a representative they verified the information with the resort and issued the refund.Just keep trying and be patient. Its a trying time for everyone.
