I am finding technical support tedious and mostly unfruitful with HostGator. The first criticism stems from the difficulty of consistently understanding the support specialists. Their microphones are generally noisy (i.e. picking up extraneous environmental noises) or not positioned correctly, which makes understanding their words difficult. The second criticism is related to the dearth of expertise exhibited by the support people. For example when asked about moving my "sandbox" site to my live site, I received two different answers, (one of which was very disconcerting: "ask your web developer to help you.") and the other was a description of a manual file management process that made me concerned that I had selected the wrong hosting service for my organization! It turns out that neither of these was the correct answer for my WordPress + Elementor sites. I figured out, after carefully backing up the entire site structure to my local server, a relatively automated push to live process using tools in the "c-panel". I should think that this type of process should be readily available to the "technical" support people on your staff. Apparently they are not, as every encounter requires long hold times while the support person goes to get the answers. While the people answering the calls are courteous and responsive, that is not "technical support". When I call, i'm looking for knowledge.

Jomar was brilliant. He identified the problem I was having with some of my emails and resolved it very quickly.I receive many emails a month about cheaper/better hosting companies but having been with Hostgator now for around 10 years and that`s because of the exceptional service I get from team members like Jomar, I will not change. Great service, super staff what more could you ask for.

Best Shared Hosting plans, though you need to buy for 3 years in order to reach the minimum rate. Customer support is sluggish and keeps disconnecting, not sure why they don't fix this.

I was having trouble installing Wordpress, called up, no "on hold" time, and problem solved within minutes. It couldn't be better!
