No idea why airbnb has so many negative reviews. Airbnb is amazing.

Our trip had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 and Airbnb was extremely helpful and hasty to my needs. I would highly recommend booking through them. We have had 3 trips booked in the past 3 years and although, one wasn't quite what was advertised, we can't complain.

Like many other others on this website I have had to cancel my vacation. As a health care worker, I have been at the forefront of the is pandemic. I desperately wanted to go on this vacation, but with a possible second and third wave, it is simply not advisable for the essential medical personal to plan out of state trips. Without COVID pandemic I would have never cancelled this trip. Not to mention, that we have not been on a family vacation in a long time since my husband was deployed for 13 1/2 months to a hazard zone costing us the summers of 2018 and 2019 to take our kids any where (again supporting the well being of this country). I booked on air bnb a rental run by Vacasa. Then after reading on the Vacasa website that that they would offer full refund minus booking fee (that is right, I was willing to pay booking fee without any complaint bc that was the policy) and talking with air bnb, who told me they would submit refund request to Vacasa and follow their policies, I have been refused any refund. Vacasa says it is air bnb, and is very clear about that. Air bnb is very clear, that it Vacasa, that is preventing me from getting any refund. As this time, all I can say that it is very sad that both companies are advertising their support for COVID and the hardships that it causes to look good, but do not actually care about the real people that are actually doing the job. It is all a show, as I have been trying (calling and messaging both companies extensively). The funny part is if either one of them had even done what their websites said they would do (refund minus booking fee), they would have had a customer for life with so much good will. But to have to fight to just have them follow their own policies, that are posted on line, it is so frustrating. I am so understanding of any business that is suffering right now, but how both Vacasa and Air BNB can they have such little understanding for their customers is crazy to me. They have both missed a very big opportunity to be the heroes for so many people and garner a lifetime of loyal customers. Big picture people. A lot of people will be going on vacation when this is over, and you would have been able to benefit from that. By supporting us now, we would support you then. Americans are very loyal people.Update: After posting reviews for both Air BNB on the this website and Vacasa. Vacasa responded quickly and I got my refund (minus booking fees) which is what I was asking for from the beginning. I have not had a response from Air BNB yet. But this might lend that it really was Vacasa refusing to refund and not Air BNB. i will leave the review a 3 because I did contact Air BNB directly and they said I would hear back in 24 hours from them, and I never did. Perhaps I still will, and if I do, then I will certainly up the review to 4 stars.

Decline in quality of the service.The more I use the service throughout the years, the more disappointed I get. Once it was really convenient, but now the things are not looking so good.

Used Airbnb for all our vacations for five years or more and have always been very happy with them. We had a few glitches with the hosts, but overall we have been very happy with the service, always making sure we choose hosts and places with high ratings only.

My son booked to go to wales and then lockdown came just before he went. He was upset but nothing he could do with a lockdown. The owner of the flat were very nice to agree for a refund, and surprised as the reviews on Airbnb are so bad the refund was done in half an hour. To Jheng that transferred the money thank you very much. I don’t know where that call centre was not in the uk by the name of the person. But job is done.

I have been their guest 10+ times, and I love the idea hosts are usually very friendly and go extra mile, but if they are not then you can ask airbnb to step in, and they do. The best stays I had with them was a room with a sea view in Croatia, a caravan on a farm just behind a barn in the middle of Welsh Snowdonia, and the most peculiar, a wooden hat, standing alone on the lakeside. Oh, and there was that wooden highlanders style cottage in polish mountains (Porabka is the place) with a fireplace, sauna, barbeque, hammocks on the terrace and beautiful birds waking us up every morning. I will keep exploring .

Airbnb charges a fee to the both the hosts and guests, which seems excessive.As a host, I have experienced several instances where the guests damaged stuff and Airbnb sided with them, contrary to all evidence I provided. Even on two occasions where the guest agreed to pay, they didn’t make them. So you are not as protected as they tell you you are. Lastly, I let some young men I wa mentoring on hosting rent one of my rooms. They were not cleaning it, they were not managing it at all so I went to Airbnb to remove it, as they refused to do so at that point. I owned the property and could prove it, but Airbnb refused and left it up.

Airbnb has been excellent. Due to the pandemic Neman hotels were unavailable and very expensive. We had one hard mattress but that was just a small issue compared to everything else. Airbnb only works if the review system works too. I’ve always known the terms before booking, and I never book somewhere thinking I might cancel. I cannot fault airbnb.
