When I decided to upgrade my phone and the phone I wanted wasn't supported by my provider (Republic), I decided to try Mint. Honestly, the transition couldn't have been easier. I downloaded the app, inserted the SIM card, and followed the directions on the screen. I have better coverage, no dropped calls and I've never run out of data on a 4GB plan. I've had a few minor issues with text msg settings, but resolved them easily with customer service via chat. I've now switched my family over to Mint plans. The only negative is that once the trial is over, to keep the cost savings you pay for an entire year. For a 4gb plan, that's $180, but it works out to $15 a month!! We just switched over one at a time, so our renewals will be staggered. Their customer service is great (we had a problem porting a number from Republic) with a live person, and we were connected right away. I can't understand why anyone would pay for another service that costs more when they'd get the same thing from Mint.

Update, Mint phone reps spent a long time talking with us. Some of the reps were more expert than others. My husband and I both had bought Samsung Galaxy S7+ tablets, and we expected to be able to use the internet with phone data, as promised in Samsung ads. We live in a rural area with fewer cell phone towers, and this turned out to be the basic issue of why we never could get the S7+ tablets to work with phone data. Mint is a secondary carrier, they rent from T -Mobile. We were finally able to use phone data with our tablets when we switched to T-Mobile. I am switching my Mint Sim card from my tablet to my phone, good thing I can use it for something I needed anyway, because I paid 6 months ahead and I wouldn't have gotten a refund. I am still giving these people 4 stars. We have never had any issues with using Mint with our cell phones.Earlier review: Good service at a good price. I had some problems due to customer error (mine). I wouldn't suggest switching to Mint if you are tech challenged and/or have complications with regard to switching. I steered an elderly friend away from Mint, but I would say yes, try this, if you are younger and familiar with tech, or your situation is simple (e.g., you don't need to carry over previous phone number). Me, I forgot PIN to my old service, also I was learning how to understand and use a new tablet, so it took a long time to get everything straightened out and working.

I am in the process of switching from AT&T to MintMobile and I already have an experience that I’d like to share. I ordered my activation kit and it was sent out via OnTrac. OnTrac lost the parcel (refuses to admit to that but when they can’t give me a location but keep delaying the item- yeah I’m not stupid). So I reached out to MintMobile to let them know. I reiterated that my gripe was not with them but OnTrac. MintMobile apologised and offered to send me a replacement. Not only that but they asked if I would like them to ship it via FedEx. I’ve never had issues with FedEx so I took them up on their offer. Great service. I get an email that announces my order and they included the note about utilising FedEx instead of OnTrac. I’m really glad I’m switching to MintMobile. This is great service already. A business that acknowledges issues with a shipping company and offers another one without charging extra. That is gold. I will be sure to talk this up in my budget groups, community pages and coworkers. You guys rock!!!!

I don't get reception in my home through any carrier except Verizon. Their signal is come and go and my phone would be on a constant search for their network draining the battery regularly. The wifi was not good as it was questionable whether a call would go out. I assume now that I have experienced Mint Mobile that they as well as other carriers require some network connection in order for wifi to fully function. That is not the case with Mint Mobile as I can now set my phone to airplane mode to save the battery from constantly searching for the network and draining as a result. I also now have a strong connection with calls or texts despite having the network blocked through airplane mode which is a nice experience vs what I had through Verizon the past 7 years. I do not get a signal inside the house as is the deal with most carriers but I always have the ability to call or text which was something I have not gotten from anyone else. I always thought that it was ridiculous that I was unable to complete a call as I was connected through wifi and had wifi calling enabled but thankfully those days are over thanks to Mint Mobile. If you are in an area with poor reception this company is the answer to your problem if you have wifi. The ability to get out reliably at all times is a necessity as I've already had 2 heart attacks and thanks to Mint I can stop paying for a landline as they do what others have failed to do and that is provide me with a constant way to do that.

Mint Mobile lives up to all promises. Solid cellular service, clear contract, low prices, great mobile app...even the occasional funny email. What more can you ask for? Keep on keepin' on Mint Mobile!

Easy switch, easy setup and great value for the cost if you get a 12 month subscription. The 4G network seems slightly slower and/or weaker than Verizon in my area, but I've yet to get in a bind from not having internet access when I needed it, and at nearly 1/4 the cost of Verizon, I'm very satisfied with the trade-off. Calls and texts go through no problem.

Great service from the get go. Though I received poor connection indoors, that's why 1 star less.

Service does not work at all in Puerto Vallarta even with international calling credits. Good signal but no service.A few days later update.... No real help, I'm pretty sure it's an agreement issue so don't rely on Mint in Mexico. Also I requested my account number and pin so I could get a local SIM and they weren't forthcoming. I will be dumping them ASAP.OK so now, after Mint reset my roaming, all appears to be working. I have also been given one months credit so I am happy for now.

It was super fast and uncomplicated to set up the phone with the sim card. I always have great coverage and LTE.

I have several phones with Mint Mobile. I've ported numbers over from other carriers, moved numbers from one IMEI to another and sent close friends to them. Even my wife who I wouldn't dare offend! I was with AT&T for years, moved to the worse mobile phone company on the planet, Spectrum Mobile and always set aside a few hours and a few blood pressure pills when I had to call support. Mint has an unbelievable tech support team and I'm not overstating that. Without fail I'm greeted by a human that sounds like Customer Service is their joy in life. It's unbelievable. In this day and time, I can't believe that they can find people like that. My hat is off to you guys. If you go public, I'm buying!
