Good - absolutely beautiful location, stunning in fact, inside and outside of the spa is excellent - wide selection of treatments (however, not so good if booked less than 3 days in advance) - great facilities, 25m indoor pool, Jacuzzi, Orangery, waterbeds for lounging, steam and sauna's, outdoor whirlpool, etc - lots for exercise: gym, country walks, 20 classes a day for a wide range of activities - rooms are great, bed is on the hard side but very comfortable, good selection of towels, toiletries, dressing table with mirror and outlets nearby, proper hair drier (I had a room facing the lake on the ground floor with doors opening to a set of chairs and table) - friendly staff, helpful (only met two that weren't so good...) - particularly liked the ballet/pilates type class (has fun instructor) - large facilities, even with a lots of people doesn't feel crowded (at least not overly so)Bad- website booking ahead of time for treatments is time consuming and badly designed - you have to select each treatment and be shown a range of times (I found most returned unavailable), so you end up having to select many treatments before you find anything available. I was booking two-three days in advance of my stay. Took me two hours to find and book treatments due to unavailability. And didn't get ones I wanted. When I arrived at the spa, the list of treatments printed for me was wrong, it didn't include treatments I booked with the room booking. quickly sorted though. For a spa, the treatment booking online and in-house should be slick, not cumbersome and time-consuming and error prone.- one staff member, on the gym class booking fitness desk was consistently blunt to the point of being rude (she 'barked' at me, then I noticed she was same to other people). Another, when asked a question, just said, "I'm new, I don't know" ... to a simple question like where is the spa treatment desk?- you have to book lunch and dinner each day. And when you arrive at the restaurant area, quite often, there is no one there to seat you. So you wait, and wait, and a cue forms.- one of my treatments, a 25 min one, started just over 10 mins late and then she quite obviously rushed and rushed and then finished early! so the treatment was really only for 19mins (24% less time) Something about the scrub mixture being the wrong one. Couldn't help feeling cheated. UglyFound 3 double charged items on my bill at check-out, she had to use a calculator and then manually do the sums on paper while I waited. 'charity and gratuity fee' is automatically opted in. Found two charges on my credit card for £1 from check-in... lots of errors.Overall, I really enjoyed my stay, and I can tell they work hard to keep people happy, I would go back again. They get the majority of things right, but if you come to de-stress, any issues ruin that goal. One unfriendly staff member, lots of overcharges, time-consuming online treatment booking, all detracted unnecessarily from my stay. The overcharging on the bill and the treatment booking online needs to be smarten-up. New online booking system and accounting system perhaps. And staff should be trained on the basics like where stuff is before they are front-of-house. Staff missing from key stations, like the restaurant desk, check-in desk, should not ever be the case.

Spent a day/night in Champneys Tring. My first stay with Champneys. Just extended my stay by 2 days. This place is absolutely superb. Pool and Spa area is amazing. Staff super friendly. Feeling great already ...... Would Highly recommend.

Visited champneys springs on the 21/5/16 with my husband for a day off to relax and rewind. On arrival we were met by professional staff, taken to the breakfast area, not in the dining room but non the less plenty of choice, robe and slippers provided and as I had been 3 times to stay before I was familiar with everything. Booked treatments and loads of choice, my husband had his hair cut and a specialist treatment, it was his first time there, lunch lovely and plenty of choice in the dining room, staff very efficient and willing to help, treatments were lovely, cleaners everywhere changing towels at a high volume, cleaning round and felt happy that this was evident,the spas and saunas just what I wanted and the swimming pool lovely again too, we didn't book any activities but plenty of choice and availability. One big thank you to Carol G who made my booking a reality following a problem with Spabreaks. I will book as I always did before on champneys website and then it's problem free.

I had been given a voucher for a spa break by my mother at Christmas. To use the voucher during the summer months I’ve had to supplement the cost by £63 taking the grand total to £198 without treatment. I then spent an additional £150 for 50 min full body massage. So in total £350 for the day. Generally the experience was ok but there were some concerns.Negatives:Numbers of staff on ground and trained first aiderFew staff on the grounds. I injured myself on the outside jacuzzi and couldn’t find any staff in the vicinity. I had to walk across the grounds with a bleeding toe to find a member of staff in reception. My injury wasn’t substantial but I was concerned about contaminating the area for others. Both staff at the time were serving other customers. The staff were polite and acted promptly but they could not find plasters in their first aid box and had to go search for some in their office. The reason I am writing this is that if they had a true medical emergency I would be in doubt that they would be adequately prepared / equipped to deal with it and Champneys management need to improve this. If I’d had a more serious incident in the grounds there was no member of staff on hand or visible. Water temperature control in ladies day changing room showers These were at one point extremely hot - so much so that my companion and I struggled to put our heads under to rinse off shampoo/ conditioner. There is no means of regulating the water temperature. It was on the verge of being burning hot and Champneys need to ensure that this is correctly monitored.Our treatments were disappointingMine was ok but my friend who I had treated for the day told me she only got a back massage and the pressure was too light. The therapist didn’t turn her over or do her legs and arms

Milton Keynes, had facial last year was lovely. Eyebrow shaping was excellent.Today went for a ST tropez express spray tan, was a lovely experience, will go back again. Staff friendly and chatty, which was nice welcoming and warming atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back for more treatments.

I took out an annual membership in January 2019. It is the best money I have ever spent.Champneys Springs is close to my home and I can exercise to whatever level intensity I want from 7am until 10pm every day!Sometimes there are glitches, but that's life. I have stayed at 5 star Spa hotels and never had as good an experience as I do at Springs.

I recently stayed over at Champney’s in Henlow for my mini moon and we had the most amazing time. The staff were lovely and the hotel was beautiful. A special mention to Ben who was working in the kitchen & Zac who was at the front desk for being extremely helpful and kind to us throughout our stay. I hope I get to visit again soon.
