Yesterday, October the 27th., I went through the process at Cabela's of trading in a used, but in mint condition long barreled revolver for a brand spanking new semi-automatic pistol. I've never set foot in a Cabela's outdoor recreation store before. The one I went to is located at 12901 Cabelas Drive here in Fort Worth. The place is overwhelmingly huge and impressive! From what I understand, this Cabela's store is the second largest one in the United States. Anyway, as I was saying, I went to the Cabela's to trade in a fine old gun and buy a particular new one. And I must say, everything went better than I had hope. Especially the great handgun deal that was struck between me and the very amiable and ethical guys that run the Cabela's Gun Library. Throughout the whole transaction I couldn't have been treated any fairer or with more respect. So I extend my sincere kudos to both the dedicated men and women who are employed at Cabela's. And I especially want to give a appreciative shout-out to those employees I had one-on-one interaction with during my pleasurable business with the store. And those employees by name are; Dakota, Daryl, and Rocky. These 3 men work in the gun library. There are probably other gun library employees I didn't see or meet during my early Sunday afternoon store visit. But the 3 aforementioned men who were working yesterday on Sunday were attentive, gracious and quite competent at their jobs. And I wasn't surprised to learn that Rocky was the respected head honcho of the gun library department. A good guy.

My friends, this is the place to be. Boats, atvs, tractors, guns and fly fishing all under the same roof. And the biggest aquarium I have ever seen. Redneck heaven!!!

I ordered items online black Friday to pick up in store. I got several notifications, finally all 4 products were in so I went to the Dundee store. Shopped then went to pick up my order. I was brought 1 item at a time unaware each time I had 4 items to pick up, they were not together. 1 item was missing, the associate kept checking, looking within luck. 30 min later I was done, left my # to call when located. The manager Jules called the next day, following up & stayed on the follow up all the way through to call another Cabelas, have it delivered to me & when I was charged shipping followed through to have that credited. JULES is the epitome of customer service, which is hard to find anymore!! Cabelas "system" was terrible, due to Jules managerial skills is why I gave 3 stars. Thank YOU Jules!

Wow, 90% of the reviews state either “Poor” or “Bad”, so I’m probably wasting time here ... But, I ordered an olive green fedora-style hat on the Cabela’s website. It arrived in a couple weeks, and it looked extra nice ... but their size chart is inaccurate, so my hat didn’t fit. I mailed it back USPS Insured ($13), with a note bicching about their size chart and the thirteen bucks, and waited 3 weeks. Cabela’s live chat service is roulette ... Rachel was fantastic and super-helpful, Quenten is what my grandmother would call ‘trifling’ ... meaning as lazy and sorry as they come. Anyway, the replacement hat was finally shipped, thanks to Rachel, and it’s really nice, and it fits. After reading all the overwhelmingly negative reviews, I’m afraid to risk doing business with them again ... but my experience with shopping Cabela’s online was good, except for their hat size chart, getting stung for an extra $13, and that Quenten lump.

I ordered 2 life jackets and 2 water sox for a special weekend trip. I gave plenty of time for shipping. One life jacket, my daughters the most important one still hasn't arrived. I gave 3 stars because the prices were reasonable and I did get 3 on time. I don't trust them with shipping important items in the future. The tracking # has not been updated with an arrival date. I ordered 2 weeks ago the expected delivery date was 3-5 days.

Last year, I purchased a beautiful camping kitchen online. It was the deluxe camping kitchen that Cabela's sells. I love it. On the first trip of the year, the one pantry got eaten by an animal and the cover ripped. At the time of purchase, I did not know that Cabela's existed and I bought the kitchen from Amazon. Amazon introduced me (a new customer that buys camping gear a lot) to Cabela's. In an effort to get some replacement parts from the maker, I visited the Cabela's website and discovered what I thought was a new and amazing company.... I called and explained to them that I did not purchase from them but that I had their kitchen and I wanted to BUY replacement parts. The first rep told me that because I did not buy from them they could not help me. The next rep told me that they could help and that they had the parts. The next rep told me that they could help but she needed pictures to know which one it was. I sent the pictures and then another rep emailed and said, sorry the parts are made in China and they could not get them. After about 2 weeks of back and forth and me asking for a manager (that I never got), I got completely shut down. I went on the website and they still sell the kitchen and they have a big sign that says "LIFETIME GUARANTEE". If they lifetime guarantee it they have to have access to parts right? I could literally go on the site and buy a new kitchen for $139 and they would have to replace the parts with their "lifetime guarantee". I gave them plenty of time to do the right thing and sell me the parts. I literally begged...and nothing. I want people to know how unbelievably unaccommodating they are. It is sad to know that they just don't care about new customers. I usually don't write reviews but I am so frustrated that I want to be heard.7/21/17I recently wrote a note about the customer service that I experienced from this company. After expressing my experience on several review sites, I got a call from a manager asking if he could rectify the situation. I explained that all I wanted was to buy a few replacement parts for my camping kitchen and he maintained the comment that they could not provide those parts. He then offered to replace the entire kitchen. I explained that it was not my intent to get a free kitchen; he explained that this was the only way he could get me parts. I finally accepted his offer and received my new kitchen the other day. I do appreciate the fact that they wanted to make it right and that they went above and beyond to change my opinion of the brand. I love my camping kitchen and I wanted to update my review to reflect my appreciation of their followup. This was far more than what I wanted/expected and it makes me believe that they actually care about their customers. Thank you.

Cabalas has always been good to me and I've always had AMAZING costumer service!!

This place is great both in store and online... I have no idea why there are bad reviews. I have not had a SINGLE issue here.

2021 Late Season Update (4 Stars): I continue to be impressed with the improvements that Cabela's online has made. They have an extensive late season inventory on many items that are hard to come by in the July-October timeframe. Delivery estimates have become accurate and they ship quickly via Fed-Ex. Tracking numbers are now provided via email when they ship. There prices are always competitive. Unlike Amazon, they don't gouge on popular lure colors. All colors are the same price regardless of demand. Cabela's is becoming my online source for most tackle. There brick and mortar store inventory is terrible (low and inaccurate) so I exclusively shop Cabela's online. 2021 Early Season Update (3 Stars): It appears as if the website is beginning to operate as one would expect. I have placed 3 online orders this season with more to come. Their website tells you if the product is in stock or not and it has been accurate thus far. Delivery times have been quick. These are all welcome changes. I love the extensive customer reviews on their website be people who know their stuff. Now I'm beginning to find that the website and delivery are good. We will see, but this is a positive sign.2020 Season (2 Stars): They accept orders for items not in stock and there's no end in sight as to when I will actually get the back ordered item. Their delivery estimate of 1-2 weeks has come and gone one month ago with no communication from Cabela's that the back ordered items will arrive any time soon. There are other online fishing tackle retailers with far higher Trustpilot reviews. Buying from Cabela's is definately not worth the headache. I will not make the mistake of ordering from Cabelas again.
